These samplers were stitched on perforated (punched) card following a pre-printed pattern
This one features the religious motto "Trust in God"
The highlight words are picked out in metal thread around velvet and this features exquisite metal work flowers and leaves and what I particularly love is there are other leaves printed but not embroidered.
Framed in a greeny grey frame, the glass has been removed to better view the work
Condition: very faint water mark to the left
You rarely come across these and this is a particularly fine example from my own personal collection
