I've never seen anything like these before - so when I came across them I bought three!

These are "benitier" i.e. fonts for holy water that would typically adorn the base of a statue or crucifix. However........these are as they came out of the mold at the factory and have not yet been trimmed or hollowed out. As a result they resemble clam shells rather than the little bowls they were destined to become.

These were salvaged from a French factory that produced religious icons and still bear the original powder used in the mould. They would ultimately have been painted or glazed but are still in their untouched original "fresh from production" state

Really unusual pieces - would be great in a bathroom display! Sits flat so could either be displayed on a shelf or attached to a wall

Size: 10cm width
